![]() ![]() I always dislike the mentality some ROM hack authors have about nerfing things because of 'cheese.' the player should be able to overcome things in different ways not just one "correct" way. It's still interesting, but I'm starting to really worry about the mid- and endgame of the hack. And I've basically done everything I can think of in terms of sidequests short of going down the Pit at all, and upgraded all my partners to Super Rank. I get wanting to require a large knowledge of the game as a baseline, but some fights really feel like they have just one or two solutions. And as he gets rid of "cheese" he's also removing player options and safety nets.Īs I'm playing more and more (I'm in Chapter 3 but obviously won't say anything about it), I'm starting to feel like there's very few consistent strategies to tackle a given area, as opposed to the original game's wide variety of possibilities. #Paper mario ttyd pit of 100 trials rewards download#I recently joined the discord to grab the download and maybe seek help every once in a while, and from what I've seen it looks like very few people there actually agree with the changes the hack author has made or is planning to make to the Life Shroom, but he's dead set on reducing "cheese" strategies. Maybe just take out Life Shrooms and replace them with a badge that revives you once per battle if it's possible. ![]() Since they can weaken Refresh with each use, could they weaken Life Shroom the same way? I don't agree with having it reduce your FP down to 0. The fact that this game gets the industry standard desert level out of the way early on is just another point in it's favor Not really related to the hack but that animation of Dry Dry Ruins still holds up after all these years! Ok Im also reading the celdias fft hack thread and that does "remove dead" status without restoring hp and that had interesting interactions. So if you revive with them you either have to plink with normals or spend your first turn popping FP restores. Would lifeshrooms reviving at 0 HP mean you live until an enemy hits you, or would the game check at the end of the turn and kill you? ![]()
